British Sociology Association A Level Essay Competition
Linus in Year 13 has been awarded 2nd prize in this year's British Sociological Association A Level essay competition. The theme this year was;
‘The corona generation? Using your sociological imagination, examine how COVID-19 may change young people’s lives’
His essay focused on the sociological impact of coronavirus on working class boys and discussed the phenomenon of 'court-hopping'. For his essay, he used a mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods and drew upon a wide range of sociological concepts and perspectives.
The judge for the BSA competition, Dr Sarah Cant of Canterbury Christ Church University commented on Linus' work;
"This piece focussing on Coronavirus’ effect on working class boys and Court-Hopping was exceptionally creative and a pleasure to read."
