Some pupils came into school to do a fun craft DT project and make face coverings for travelling on public transport. We were learning how to add colour and pattern using techniques called tie dye and Japanese shibori. First we got plain fabric and then tied different parts of the fabric where we wanted to create a pattern. We then chose a colour for dying and left our fabric to take up the dye. Then on to the face mask making. We used our dyed fabric and other patterned fabric to cut out the shapes we needed for our face coverings using a template we made ourselves. We had to measure the sizes to make a perfect fit.
We all love our new handmade face masks!
