Maths Student of the Week

Rinnah 7C - For always giving 100% effort no matter the topic in maths. You always go above and beyond in class and homework with independent study. Well done and keep up the enthusiasm for maths!

International Women’s Day 

In a wonderful celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8 March, students at Camden School for Girls participated in an inspiring and interactive activity created by Ms. Clark.

The board featuring Marie Curie, Rosa Parks and our very own Frances Mary Buss is located in the school’s main hallway and became a focal point of this week’s celebrations. Students added their inspirational woman to the board throughout the week.

IWD is a global celebration that highlights the achievements of women, while also acknowledging the work still needed to achieve gender equality.

Ms. Clark’s board for IWD is a powerful way for students to contribute to this important conversation and reflect on the women who have influenced their own lives.

Women in Construction & Design Challenge Day - National Apprenticeship Week 2025

A group of Year 10 students took part in a whole day event at the Euston Skills Centre as part of National Apprenticeship Week. The day consisted of a series of challenges and workshops, including sustainable design and the development of green skills.

Fahmida, Year 10:
I really enjoyed our trip because it offered a hands-on experience that was both engaging and educational. We got the opportunity to use virtual reality equipment, which made the experience immersive and thrilling. Working in teams to design and build structures helped us develop valuable skills in time management, teamwork, and budget management. Witnessing the various aspects that go into a design process has broadened my perspective on engineering and architecture.

Amelia, Year 10:
My favourite workshop was one where you had to design an ideal space for young people to hang out in. We had a side with seating and for relaxing, and on the other side of the wall we had a climbing wall and other things you may find in a gym. I also liked the VR workshop and I thought it was really cool to play with. Overall, I think the workshops were really fun and I learnt a lot about the fields in construction.

As always, our students were enthusiastic and fully engaged in all aspects of the day, with fantastic feedback from the organisers of the event. Well done everyone!

CPR Training Session

On Tuesday, 25 February, volunteers from the London Ambulance Service visited the school and ran sessions with all of Year 8, teaching them about the importance of CPR and how to deliver it. All students had the opportunity to practice giving chest compressions and using a defibrillator. Students enjoyed the interactive sessions and now feel more confident in administering these vital life-saving skills. At lunchtime, staff members got some training too!

Library Mural Compettition

Paratroopers at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre

Two of our former students have written a play which they are performing locally on the 22 and 23 of March at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Gaisford Street!

Daniel Patten and Sol Alberman were both outstanding performers and writers during their time in our Sixth Form 2017-2019 and have collaborated now to research the process used in selecting candidates to stand as Labour MPs in the 2024 General Election and to write this satire based on their findings.

PARATROOPERS charts the rise and fall of two prospective candidates for Parliament over the course of the 2024 General Election. This absurdist comedy satire is modelled on real people and events drawn from existing Labour Party scandals – including allegations of voter fraud."

Then make sure you visit the UCL Hawkes Institute's annual science fair, Science of Surgery.

On Friday 11 April, 11am-4pm, UCL scientists and staff will lead hands-on demonstrations to children and adults, showcasing the cutting-edge medical research that they are working on. Use a medical ultrasound scanner, try simulated keyhole surgery, and go on behind-the-scenes tours of their labs to see robot surgeons.
