Year 8 and 9 PE Trip
On Tuesday 17 May, some students from Years 8,9, and 10 who regularly attend PE clubs went on a trip to The Edge Outdoor Activity Centre in Hertfordshire. We were all very excited when we got chosen to go on the trip!
As PE Ambassadors, we got to help the PE teachers decide which activities to do while we were there. The ones we chose were: high ropes, zorbing, laser tag, orienteering and mountain boarding.
We enjoyed all of them, but the high ropes were our favourite as we got to climb up to the highest point on the course and take a zip line down! Most of us had never done any of the activities, so it was great to try things that we’ve never seen before.
We also really enjoyed the zorbing! This was when we were each in an inflatable ball and played some games which meant running into each other and falling over - some of us even ended up upside down!
In laser tag we were in two teams, and had to ‘shoot’ the other team and get them all out. This was really fun as we did it in a field and were able to hide behind bales of hay and piles of tires.
Mountain boarding was similar to skateboarding but we went down a hill which was steeper than the ramps at Cantelowes! We stood up on the boards as much as we could, but it was more fun sitting down and going down the hill!
We all had a great time and really hope we can go on the trip next year. It is a reward for students who regularly attend PE clubs throughout the year, so we hope that these reviews motivate people to go to clubs and hopefully get into the trip next year!
